Two-Vehicle Crash Near Boulder Highway Leaves One Dead And Two Critically Injured
Investigators from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department were called to a deadly crash Friday morning near Boulder Highway. The accident was reported at 11:30 a.m. Friday morning near Boulder Highway, Emerald Avenue near Russell Road.
According to police the accident involved two vehicles, with rolling over and catching on fire. The preliminary investigation shows that a 28-year-old man driving a Hyundai Elanda was driving northbound on Boulder Highway, south of Desert Horizons Drive at a high rate of speed.
Police believe a Chrysler Pacifica was stopped at a stop sign on westbound Desert Horizons just east of Boulder Highway waiting to make a left turn when they were struck by the male driver of the Hyundai.
The driver of the Chrysler, a 55-year-old man , was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. The driver and passenger of the Hyundai were taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police also reported that the driver of the Hyundai did not show signs of impairment and was charged with reckless driving related offenses in absentia. This is an ongoing investigation.
