One Dead After Crash On Galena Creek Bridge In Washoe County
An accident involving a Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District fire engine a another vehicle leaves one dead on the Galena Creek Bridge early Friday morning February 7th.
The Truckee Meadows Fire Department had responded to another car accident on the bridge with snowy weather conditions. The fire engine was in the third travel lane and the shoulder of IR 580 on the northbound side while attending the the previous accident.
At the same time a 2017 Subaru WRX was heading the same way towards the other crash scene driving at a speed to fast for the current weather conditions, causing the vehicle to lose control and spin out. The vehicle than struck the rear corner of the fire engine on the left side.
Eric Burns, 38 from Carson City, the driver of the Subaru was pronounced dead a an area hospital. According to Nevada State Police no injuries were reported by the firefighters at the scene.
