Northeast Las Vegas Crash Leaves One Dead And Arrested For DUI
An accident occurred Wednesday at Las Vegas Blvd and Lamb Blvd. The accident happened at around 3:30 p.m. in the afternoon and involved a pedestrian and a vehicle.
Las Vegas Police said a 33 year-old man succumbed to his injuries due to the crash. According to police the pedestrian was walking north on Las Vegas Blvd., North of Lamb Blvd. on the east side of the road. Evidence shows the pedestrian was walking past a private driveway in the area of the 3700 block of Las Vegas Blvd.
A 2005 Nissan was exiting a private driveway at the same time, traveling westbound to exit the driveway to head south on Las Vegas Blvd. As the driver of the Nissan was exiting the driveway they struck the pedestrian. The driver continued on pushing the pedestrian into the southbound lane of Las Vegas Blvd, eventually coming to a stop at a curb.
Medical personnel arrived at the scene and transported the pedestrian to UMC Trauma Center where he later died.Aurora Lopez, 55 the driver of the Nissan remained at the scene, showing signs of impairment. She was later arrested on DUI related charges.
This is the 16th traffic related fatality this year in LVMPD jurisdiction.
