Laughlin Crash Leaves Pedestrian Dead, Sunday
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police were called to the scene of a Laughlin crash that left one dead Sunday afternoon. The accident was reported at 1:09 p.m.
according to evidence at the scene and surveillance video the pedestrian was crossing a roadway from west to east, north of the marked crosswalk. An 80 year old driving a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling southbound in the left lane.
Police believe that the pedestrian entered the path of the 80-year-old from Golden Valley, Arizona and he struck the pedestrian with the right front side of the Jeep.
The pedestrian was thrown into the roadway. The pedestrian was taken to a trauma center by first responders but later died of their injuries at the hospital.
The driver remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment. This is the 40th traffic related fatality in LVMPD’s jurisdiction this year.
