Head On Collision Leaves 2 Critically Injured In east Las Vegas
Five people were injured in a head-on collision early Monday morning at around 3:12 a.m. in East Las Vegas. The accident was reported at E. Sahara Avenue near Pacific Summit Street, east of Sloane Lane, according to LAs Vegas Metropolitan Police. Two of the victims were left with critical injuries due to the crash.
It is believed that a 20-year old man was driving a 2002 Toyota Camry westbound with three teenage passengers when the car crossed into the eastbound lane.
The Toyota then crashed head-on with a 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan SUV that was traveling eastbound. The driver of the Volkswagen was the sole occupant of that vehicle.
All five people were taken to area hospitals with injuries, the driver of the Toyota and a minor passenger suffered critical injuries. The driver of the Volkswagen and another minor passenger from the Toyota suffered serious injuries. The fifth victim, a minor also from the Toyota, was reported to have only minor injuries, according to police.
Police administered impairment tests but the outcome of those tests has not been released at this time. The crash remains under investigation at this time.
