Driver in critical condition after accident near Sahara and Nellis
According to an LVMPD release, the crash had happened near E. Sahara Ave. and S. Nellis Blvd. at approximately 7:43 a.m. on Tuesday. Evidence at the scene, witness statements, and video surveillance had indicated that a 2018 Nissan Altima had exited a private drive onto the 4800 block of E. Sahara, traveling northbound. A 2017 Dodge Caravan had approached the private drive eastbound on E. Sahara and the crash had occurred when the Nissan had begun making a left turn onto E. Sahara as the Dodge had reached the private driveway. The collision had redirected both vehicles to the east, where they had come to rest. Emergency medical personnel had transported the Nissan’s driver to Sunrise Hospital with life-threatening injuries, where police had said she had remained in critical condition. The Dodge’s driver had remained at the collision scene and had shown no signs of impairment, according to police. The collision had remained under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.
