Project Backpack

Thousands of school children go without backpacks and the essential supplies they need to succeed in school. Wanting to make a difference in the Las Vegas Valley, Richard Harris set out on a mission to get backpacks and school supplies into the hands of some of the neediest schools in the Clark County School District through his Project Backpack initiative.

Common Questions

Asked all the time. Answered here.

How much does it cost to hire a Project Backpack lawyer?

Nothing up front. We work on contingency — you pay no fee unless we win, and your first consultation is always free and confidential.

How long do I have to file a claim in Nevada?

Most Nevada personal injury claims must be filed within two years of the injury (NRS 11.190). Evidence and footage can disappear within days, so the sooner you call, the stronger your case.

What is my Project Backpack case worth?

Every case is different — value depends on your injuries, medical care, lost income, and who was at fault. Try our free AI Case Estimator or get a free review with a real attorney.

Will I have to go to court?

Most cases settle without a trial. If the insurance company will not pay fairly, our trial team is ready to take your case to a Nevada jury.

IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR! BACK TO SCHOOL!

We’re excited to bring Project Backpack for the 5th year in a row! We’ve given over 50,000 backpacks full of school supplies to Nevada students to help them get ready for the school year. It’s our honor to give back to Nevada kids, a state we love so much.

Our story

Thousands of children go without backpacks and the essential supplies they need to succeed in school. Wanting to make a difference in Nevada, Richard Harris set out on a mission to get backpacks and school supplies into the hands the neediest students. Through the generous support of local volunteers, attorneys and staff of Richard Harris Law Firm, Project Backpack will once again have a strong launch to start this school year.

Richard Harris Law Firm’s 5th Annual Project Backpack Event

These events are for the students who are NOT receiving a backpack at the schools we are supporting in 2025. This year, we are giving backpacks only to KINDERGARTEN students at the listed schools. Students who are in all grade levels of any school (excluding kindergarten students at the listed schools) are eligible to attend the in-person event. See below for a list of kindergartener’s schools.
